Once you have started HellRaid and taken at least one note make sure to complete it by taking ALL, as the progress of this achievement on Steam resets when you leave or complete HellRaid. That way you will enter a game in the main campaign on the verge of finishing it, that way you will have some points to distribute and choose the skills you think best, since HellRaid does not let you take equipment you don’t have to worry about weapons, and being a "New Game" the notes there have not yet been collected. In the start menu, go to play / campaign / new game / advanced / choose the last mission (Withdrawal) / choose the desired difficulty (I recommend Normal) / and enter The only requirement is that you have completed the main campaign. For those who are also having problems completing the Well-Read Progress, here is my tip that does not require knowledge about the Windows and Steam system, and that in my view is the best option for a solution without risk of corrupting any saved game ( something that happened to me, thankfully it was at NightHunter).

Act tessera assessment12/31/2023 ![]() In other words, diversity work depends on social and emotional skills. It necessitates the capacity to listen well, to feel and express compassion, to speak with authenticity, to confess and forgive, to imagine ways forward. It means forming relationships outside our normal circles and often being uncomfortable. One thing I’ve learned is that this diversity work often demands hard conversations. They have helped me to understand and celebrate Biblical diversity. Since I began this role, Jenny Brady from Prestonwood Christian Academy and other colleagues like Joel Hazard and David Robinson from the Christian Educators Diversity Alliance have been an amazing support system. One of the greatest blessings of being a Christian educator, especially in the diversity field, is that I am not alone. Since 2016, I have served at my alma mater Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, now in my third year as Director of Diversity. Teaching in South Korea as a Fulbright English Teacher in 2015 nurtured this desire for cross-cultural engagement and helped me recognize how central this value is to K-12 education. Since then, I have yearned to learn about cultures and perspectives different from my own. ![]() On my first trip abroad, I experienced what it meant to be an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). After a school mission trip to Martha Brae, Jamaica, where I helped lead Vacation Bible School and construct a cement wall for the church, I created the life goal of Making A Difference Everyday (MADE). This Kingdom education laid a foundation for my identity in Jesus Christ. For 14 years, I attended Christian schools.

Map of middle east before ww112/31/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some 80 percent of those interviewed favored the establishment of a “United Syria”-an outcome that, far from settling the question of what self-determination would look like, forced the commission to wrestle with the crucial issue of what should happen to minorities. This early polling exercise captured a wide range of views-some overlapping, some irreconcilable. The commissioners traveled from city to city accepting petitions and taking testimony, compiling a rare record of Arab popular opinion from the period. In addition to outlining several autonomous regions, they proposed that Constantinople (now Istanbul) become an international territory administered by the League of Nations, since “no one nation can be equal to the task” of controlling the city and its surrounding straits, “least of all a nation with Turkey’s superlatively bad record of misrule.” Although the authors had been tasked with drawing borders, it seems that once they confronted the many dilemmas of implementing self-determination, they developed a more fluid approach to nationhood and identity.ĭisagreement among the region’s residents about their own future certainly helped the commission reach this conclusion. Their report proposed all sorts of ideas for tiered, overlapping mandates or bi-national federated states, ultimately endorsing a vision that could be considered either pre- or post-national, depending on one’s perspective. Greeks and Turks only needed one country because the “two races supplement each other.” The Muslims and Christians of Syria needed to learn to “get on together in some fashion” because “the whole lesson of modern social consciousness points to the necessity of understanding ‘the other half,’ as it can be understood only by close and living relations.”īut the commissioners also realized that simply lumping diverse ethnic or religious groups together in larger states could lead to bloody results. Indeed, the report insisted on forcing people to live together through complicated legal arrangements that prefigure more recent proposals.Īmong other things, the authors concluded that dividing Iraq into ethnic enclaves was too absurd to merit discussion. The King-Crane report is still a striking document-less for what it reveals about the Middle East as it might have been than as an illustration of the fundamental dilemmas involved in drawing, or not drawing, borders. Nor do the members of each group necessarily share a vision of how they wish to be governed. But as the King-Crane Commission discovered back in 1919, ethnic and religious groups almost never divide themselves into discrete units. Today, many argue that a century of untold violence and instability-culminating in ISIS’s brutal attempt to erase Middle Eastern borders-might have been avoided if only each of the region’s peoples had achieved independence after World War I. The French-administered region would later become Lebanon and Syria, and the British region would become Israel, Jordan, and Iraq. In accordance with the Sykes-Picot Agreement Britain and France had drafted in secret in 1916, Britain and France ultimately took over the region as so-called mandate or caretaker powers. Needless to say, the proposals were disregarded. Interactive map: How the King-Crane Commission envisioned the Middle East (Karl Sturm and Nick Danforth)Īfter spending three weeks interviewing religious and community leaders in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and southern Turkey, the two men and their team proposed that the Ottoman lands be divided as shown in the map above.

Malwarebytes vs bitdefender android12/31/2023 ![]() McAfee’s Safe Connect VPN is easy to use and offers unlimited data and decent speeds. However, like Bitdefender, it’s lacking 2FA options and password sharing. It offers all the essentials, like unlimited password storage across devices, secure notes, and a password generator. McAfee’s True Key is a decent password manager. With its Safe Family app, you can filter web content, limit device usage and internet access, block specific apps, and track device locations. Like Bitdefender, McAfee offers excellent parental controls (with its top-tier Family plans). ![]() Web protection & browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.McAfee Total Protection covers either 5 or unlimited devices and includes: If you want to get the VPN with no limitations, you can get it as a standalone purchase or upgrade to Bitdefender’s Premium Security plan. The VPN is limited to 200 MB per day, but it offers excellent speeds and is good for torrenting. For example, in gaming mode Bitdefender will suspend notifications, automatic updates, and virus scans, which is super handy.īitdefender’s password manager is okay, but there are no 2FA or password sharing options. On the mobile apps, you can also set safe and restricted geographical locations, and view the latest phone contacts added to your child’s device.īitdefender’s user profiles are super helpful - they offer different modes depending on what you’re doing, such as working, gaming, or watching movies. VPN (limited to 200 MB/day & 1 server location).īitdefender’s parental controls are excellent - you can set daily device limits, manage and block apps, and whitelist and blacklist specific sites.McAfee: Featuresīitdefender Total Security covers 5 devices and has: Overall, McAfee is a great option if you’re looking for online protection for your Windows or Mac device. In my tests, it blocked 100% of phishing sites and exploit attacks, detecting many dangerous sites that Chrome and Firefox’s built-in protections failed to. ![]() It identifies phishing sites from a massive database that is continuously updated. McAfee’s WebAdvisor offers excellent web protection. It checks search results for dangerous sites, scans encrypted websites, and identifies fraudulent content. It compares any website you visit to a huge database of dangerous sites and also shows you which sites were blocked and why.īitdefender also stops you visiting pages with downloadable malware. McAfee: Web Securityīitdefender’s anti-phishing protection is great - it blocked all phishing sites I tried to access in my tests. McAfee’s real-time protection engine performed as well as Bitdefender’s, successfully blocking me from downloading or opening any malware files when I put it to the test. That said, you can schedule scans for a convenient time when you’re not using your computer. While I could still use my PC for browsing the web, streaming videos and gaming were impossible. However, unlike Bitdefender, it did cause some slowdown on my computer. Like Bitdefender, McAfee’s full system scan took around an hour. ![]() McAfee uses traditional malware detection techniques, checking files against a huge virus database and using heuristics to identify potentially dangerous files too. McAfee’s antivirus scanner performed just as well as Bitdefender’s, identifying 100% of the malware samples I tested it with. I tried to download a variety of infected files to my computer, and Bitdefender Shield blocked all of them before I could begin to do so. The full system scan took around an hour, but this wasn’t an issue as it was so lightweight it barely affected my system performance.īitdefender’s real-time protection, Bitdefender Shield, is also excellent. I tested Bitdefender by downloading hundreds of malware samples to my computer, including viruses, trojans, rootkits and ransomware. Most scanning happens in the cloud, so the scans only take up a tiny amount of your CPU.īitdefender detected 100% of the malware on my computer after a full system scan. It uses machine learning and a huge directory to detect malware. Bitdefender’s malware scanner is lightweight but powerful.

Instal the new for apple Topaz Video AI12/31/2023 ![]() That's offset by Apple Silicon Macs being all-round faster than Intel Macs - dramatically so if the media/neural engines come into play. Mostly the effect of running low on RAM will be that things slow down. There's also the question pf what you mean by "enough RAM". storing the executable code is only one aspect of memory usage. Anyhow, we're back in the same boat now as many apps are again shipping as "universal binaries" containing both ARM64 and x86-64 code.Īnyway, in an age when we're slinging around 220ppi high-DPI images, 128k sound samples, 4k video, frame buffers for 5k screens, huge AI training data sets etc. Haven’t yet run into any memory issues.Ĭlick to 's not clear if that changed the RAM requirements or just saved disc space (I doubt that the Intel code ever got loaded on a PPC machine, or vice versa). I have an 8GB M2 Air and I regularly push it to play games, record and master audio, and occasionally archive and encode video. They never had that with Intel, they just had to take whatever Intel had on the shelf and make do. Moving to their own silicon meant they could once again highly optimize the code base because, like in the AIM days, the CPUs are made only for the Macintosh. Long story short Apple had to take a much less optimized approach to coding OSX during the Intel phase to accommodate CISC execution. ![]() PPC was also a RISC based design, so the code was smaller. In order to save multiple gigabytes of hard drive space there was a utility around at the time of OSX Leopard that would strip the Intel code from binaries if you had a PowerPC machine, which made them up to 2/3rd smaller in my experience. I had both an iBook G4 and a brand new Core Duo Mac Mini at the time and the Mini suffered from slowdowns and beach balls a lot more frequently than my trusty Book did. Not everyone here will remember this but when Apple switched to Intel they carried over the 512MB of memory base model machines came with, and it simply wasn’t enough for Intel versions of OSX. The number of functions the CPU can perform are reduced but the ones that are present are considerably faster.Īnd the second is code bloat. One is ARM processors run a RISC instruction set instead of CISC. Peace.Ī lot of folks think Apple are just being cheap, and I don’t disagree, it’s not like it costs that much more in parts costs to equip these machines with 16GB instead of 8GB, especially given what they charge for even the cheapest of their machines.īut there is technical merit to the “more efficient” claim for two reasons. Didn't keep my 2019 that long because of the transition and massive improvements to heat and battery life, but I plan to keep my upcoming MBP M3 Max for about that long!Īnyway, just thought that was interesting. Heck, I'm a professional and I kept my maxed out 2012 retina MBP for nearly 7 years. You can't tell me this 8GB system won't be crawling when it gets macOS 20 in six years! And a lot of regular people keep their computer that long or longer. For normal users, it will significantly shorten the usable lifespan of their computer with regard to future OS updates. And while it will work, evidence has shown that more memory helps, especially in AI applications for loading the model into memory, not to mention other applications like video rendering, etc. 8GB still isn't enough for a professional user if they ever plan to do more than one thing at a time. While I wouldn't recommend 8GB even to my grandfather, it's still interesting that there is something real and tangible to this whole story, as evidenced above. Memory compression goes a long way, and having unified memory can really help out apps like this that can be so GPU intensive doing AI stuff. So it seems like there is some real world evidence for this argument, although I feel like 12GB is probably closer to the real answer, and I thought as much when that story came out.

Car battery splice kit12/30/2023 If you’re looking to charge a USB device like a smartphone or power a small appliance like a toaster while you’re camping, use the outlets like you normally would at home. With the engine running, turn off the power switch (if equipped) and carefully disconnect the cables from the battery posts. If the problem was battery power, your engine should fire right up. Never turn a portable jump starter on before it’s connected properly and you’re about to crank the engine over.Ĭrank the engine over until it starts. If there’s a power switch, now’s when you turn it on. Prop the device up so that it won’t be in the way of moving parts when the engine starts. ![]() Often, you’ll get an indicator light up or a tone if you’ve connected it wrong. Clamp the red cable to the positive (+) post on the battery and the black cable to the negative (-) post. Determine which connectors you will need and get your jump starter set up.Ĭonnect your jump starter to the battery directly, if you can. Some booster packs have hardwired cables while others have quick-attach options. Usually, it’s a common household plug and a port on the side of the device. Most portable jump starters come with some juice in the battery when it’s delivered, but charge it fully before you need it. Using a portable jump starter is something every driver should know, and it’s a great idea to test it out before you actually need it in a time-sensitive situation. While some are simply jump starters, others are multi-tools.Īs with any equipment you purchase, read the instructions to get specific directions on its functions and safe operation. Others have USB chargers built in, or they could have LED work lights, and others yet have an inverter to power 110-volt household devices. Some higher-end boosters can jump-start 6-volt, 12-volt, and 24-volt systems. Lead-acid and lithium-ion jump starters are the two main variants, and Li-ion is smaller, more powerful, and lighter, thus it’s more expensive. One of the main determiners is the type of battery it possesses. The massive price range is due to the power capacity and other options the portable car jump starter contains. It’s almost foolproof, and you’re unlikely to fry any electronics with it. ![]() Two leads come out the side – a red positive lead and a black negative lead – that clamp to your battery terminals without worrying that you’ve mixed up the order between the vehicles. Inside the jump starter is a compact yet powerful battery that can often start an engine more than a dozen times over without being recharged. It’s more convenient, faster, and its size makes it perfect to use remotely and take with you when there’s no help around for miles. It uses the donor’s battery storage and alternator’s power generation to quickly enable a start.Įssentially, a portable jump starter does a similar function without needing a second vehicle. In a situation where you jump-start a dead battery on a car, truck, boat, RV, or motorcycle, you connect booster cables from the terminals of the recovery vehicle to the dead battery’s posts.

Oculus quest 2 myst walkthrough12/30/2023 ![]() Climb down both of these passages into rooms belonging to the brothers. Turn the crank on the generator a full 6 times to charge the battery - if the lights turn out in the passages in the next section, return here and crank the generator again.Įxit the lighthouse and press the middle button at the umbrella to drain the rocky staircases in the section between the 2 boat halves. Take this new key and use it at the top of the ladder so you can enter the main part of the lighthouse. Go back to the lighthouse and use the key to unlock the floating chest. Return to the umbrella and press the right button again to fill the lighthouse with water. Turn the tap on its side to empty it of water, then turn the tap again to close it. Now climb down the stairs and you will find a chest at the bottom. Use the right button to start a water pump, and re-enter the lighthouse. Go back outside and approach the umbrella structure. Look at the floor and try to use the key, but it won't reach a lock. Climb back down the path and enter the lighthouse. Use this to locate the direction of the top of the lighthouse (135 degrees, or south-east). Walk across to the other half of the ship and climb the curved path up to a telescope. Go down through the door and use the linking book to travel. The ship out near the dock will also rise to the surface of the water. Click on the symbols for the 3 constellations you saw earlier and the model ship will rise in the well. The pillars lining this path each display a symbol in red. Leave the library and go down the path with the well. Return to the library and look up these constellations to find they correspond to the leaf, snake and bug. Press the button and note the constellation that is displayed. Look at the control panel and set the date to Oct 11, 1984, 10:04 AM. Head to the planetarium and turn off the lights (use the switch near the door) then sit down in the chair. Look at the other painting to close the secret passage and open the library door. Climb down and go back down in the elevator. Climb back down, then climb the ladder with the key symbol and you will see a plaque with 3 dates. At the top, climb the ladder with the book symbol to see a view of the ship. Go through the passage and into the elevator, then press the button to go up. Look at the painting nearest to the map and the bookcase will reveal a passage. Turn the tower on the map to face the ship/dock. These correspond to the 4 ages of Myst that you need to visit in any order. If you turn the tower, you will note that it pauses and shows a red beam as it passes over four of the buildings. There is also a flashing building - the tower. Now look at the map hanging on the wall, which shows highlighted buildings corresponding to the marker switches you have flipped. Next look at the blue and red books on the other walls - you will not see anything unless you put the single red page in the red book, and the single blue page in the blue book (and then you will only see very partial messages from the 2 brothers, who want you to bring them more pages). First approach the bookcase directly opposite the entrance, and read the 4 legible books, noting any interesting diagrams you find. Enter the number 08 on this (the number of marker switches on the island), then press the red button, and turn the projector back on to see a message from Atrus. Turn around and approach the note on the wall, then press the green button to reveal a hidden panel. Turn off the dimensional imager using the large button at the bottom. Return to the dock where you started and enter the underground passage. At the end of the path you will see the 8th and final marker switch outside a clock tower, but you cannot reach it yet so ignore it for now. Further along the path find a switch outside a brick building to the right, and a wooden building to the left. Just past the well is another switch to flip. Return to the library and head down the path towards a well. Walk along a narrow path behind the library to a spaceship, and flip a marker switch here. Don't enter here yet, but remember where it is for later. Pick up the note from the ground and read it.Ĭontinue along the path and take the right branch to flip another marker switch, then return to the main path and note the building on the right - the library. Satisfactory layouts12/30/2023 ![]() In the 1990s, there were remarkable theoretical contributions in formalizing the design process in a way that computers might become partners. Since then, many studies have made it possible to represent architectural knowledge for computers, and demystify the architectural design process, alongside endeavoring to externalize the reasoning process of expert designers. He defines two approaches: inputting all knowledge to machines in the first step or alternatively, inputting all knowledge to machines in the first step and imparting the learning process to machines ( Negroponte, 1975). Negroponte (1975) puts the terms “intelligence” and “understanding” together, indicating the need to address computer graphics and machine vision simultaneously. Literature review 2.1 Machine learning in architecture Last, Section 5 presents the limitations of the model and the potential improvements, and also provides a discussion on the contribution of the study to research and practice. Then, Section 3 presents the methodology by detailing data collection, data set preparation, two-step training of the model and its validation, followed by results and discussion in Section 4. After this introduction, Section 2 presents the literature review on ML in architecture, the structure of the Pix2Pix method and studies adopting Pix2Pix for architectural plan layout generation. This paper is structured in five sections. This study aims to propose a twofold ML model, namely, EDU-AI, and its implementation for classroom layout generation. ML algorithms trained with given data sets can manifest a promising performance for school building zoning and furniture relocation problems. Among many computational methods, machine learning (ML) is used in this study. For similar reasons, the decodability of classroom furniture layout makes it easy to be represented via computational methods. Regarding the large number of school buildings that have been built and are likely to be built in the future, zoning and furniture relocation in the classrooms can be considered as a repetitive task of selecting a combinatorial solution among a finite number of alternatives. In other words, the typical school projects are context-free typologies for school design to be modified according to contextual requirements such as environmental conditions, social needs or level of education. ![]() “Typical school projects” refers to the base projects in Turkey adapted to varying levels of education and contexts. In the case of Turkey, cellular plan organization of the classrooms is widely used in “typical” school projects. These rules are as follows: the location of the board is chosen according to the position of the door the teacher’s desk is located according to the position of the board the student desks are arranged according to the position of the board and the teacher’s desk and almost inevitably, the orientation according to the windows. In classrooms with a cellular plan type, design decisions related to the furniture layout (student desks, board, teacher desk, lockers, etc.) can be decoded according to specific rules. In classroom design, open-plan layouts became popular in the 1950s because of an increased number of students and a need for adaptability however, since the 1980s, the cellular organization has remained the most preferred design strategy ( Dovey and Fisher, 2014 Shabha, 1993). Classrooms are commonly accepted as one of the main functions in educational buildings. Similarly, the educational buildings’ envelopes, plan layouts and functions have been diversified. Social, cultural and economic conditions have been influential in the spatial needs of educational buildings and the general content of education.
